Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products

Do the members of your family constantly seem to battling sore throats, colds, aches and pains and other annoying symptoms?

Not sure why everyone is always sick? Have you asked yourself this important question: Is your house making your family sick?

It very well could be – at least the cleaning products you are using could be. The statistics are clear: many of the standard cleaning products being used in today’s homes is causing allergic reactions and respiratory distress in many of the people living in them – especially the children.

The chemicals we use to keep our homes clean have been linked to all sorts of disorders, including cancer!

How can you avoid sickening your family and still keep your house clean and germ free? Lucky for you there are plenty of environmentally friendly cleaning products out there.

Many are even cheaper than the ones you are used to buying.

Here are just a few of the great toxin free cleaning products available that can get the job done right without hurting your family – or the environment:

Vinegar, Baking Soda and Lemons are three very efficient (yet harmless) all-natural cleaning products that can help keep your house clean and safe.

Used for centuries, these basic ingredients are great at scouring as well as disinfecting all sorts of surfaces in your home.

Vinegar

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in an empty spray bottle and use it to clean just about any surface in your home.

It not only works well to clean most surfaces, but it is also a great natural disinfectant. Be careful though.

If you do not dilute vinegar properly it will eat away at tile grout, ultimately destroying it.

Oh, and don’t worry about the smell – that will go away once the vinegar dries.

Baking Soda

Use baking soda either alone or with lemons and vinegar to make a great abrasive cleaner that works hard to get rid of deep seated grime and stains.

It is especially useful in the kitchen and bath.

Lemons

Lemons don’t just smell good, they have an antibacterial quality that kills any bad germs that may be lurking in your home.

Used on its own, lemon juice is great at dissolving soap scum in the bathroom and helping to give your faucets and fixtures a great shine.

Mixed with water or vegetable oil, lemon juice can handle other jobs too. For instance, mixing lemon juice with vinegar and baking soda, creates a wonderful paste to use on counter tops, other hard surfaces and stains throughout the house.

Vegetable oil and lemon juice together make a wonderful wood cleaner.

While these may three of the cheapest and most popular environmentally friendly cleaning products you can use around your house, they certainly are not the only ones.

There are literally hundreds of products you can make at home or even buy in the store that are great at keeping your house clean without harming anything it comes in contact with.

Just be certain to read the ingredients when buying ready-made cleaners.

Just because a product says it is organic or all natural does not mean that it is safe or even good for the environment.
