Review of McCulloch Steam Cleaner

The McCulloch MC 1275 Steam cleaner is a heavy duty, portable, environmentally friendly, steam cleaner. Use this cleaner with its 1500 watts of power, to blast dirt, grime, grease, and allergens from upholstery, floors, engines, wheels, patio furniture, and other indoor and outdoor surfaces.

The McCulloch 1275 weighs in at 13 lbs, and has caster wheels for easy mobility. It has a built in compartment to carry small accessories. It comes with a 1 year warranty, and costs around $102-$129.

McCulloch MC1275 Features:

  • 48 ounce boiler capacity
  • 250 degree boiler operating temperature
  • Steam ready light
  • Portable
  • Uses tap water only, no chemicals required!
  • Casters and wheels for mobility
  • 17 Attachments, including a steam jet nozzle, 2 extension wands, 3 different types of brushes, and a squeegee

Boiler:

With the 48 ounce capacity of the boiler, this means you have enough steam generated to clean for 45- 60 minutes continuously! The steam cleaner uses tap water only, (no distilled) and no additional cleaners are necessary. For easy use and safety, there is a lighted on/off switch, a steam ready indicator light, and a switch to meter steam output. You have a choice between continuous steam output or intermittent output.

Portability:

The McCulloch 1275 is portable machine; it weighs only 13 lbs, and has wheels and casters so you can take it to your major cleaning projects, whether they are inside or outside. This steam cleaner is one of the ultimate “green” cleaning products, nothing but tap water and electricity is required to clean!

McCulloch MC1275 Recommendations:

This product gets mixed reviews. A number of reviewers wrote that they were impressed with how the steamer worked and how clean and sanitized their homes were, and that the steam seemed to clean better than chemicals did. They also said they found tough to reach areas such as shower door tracks and crevices, were much easier and more effective to clean with the McCulloch 1275. The con’s with this machine is it does have to be refilled after about 50 min, and then has to reheat.

It’s also noisy, when steam comes out of the nozzle, it’s loud. Ear protection might be necessary.

One of the consumer’s wrote that this machine did not seem to put out very hot steam, and they weren’t satisfied with it.

The cleaner comes with a 12 foot cord, for outdoor use, you’ll definitely need an extension cord.

A common complaint seemed to be that the nylon brushes did not stand up to heavy scrubbing. If heavy scrubbing was required, the brushes broke down rapidly.

As long as you ready for a coffee break after about an hour on cleaning, this is probably a good machine for you. If you like to do your cleaning for hours on end, you might want to invest in a model that has a continuous clean system.
