Bissell Cleanview Helix Vacuum Cleaner Review

Review of Bissell Cleanview Vacuum

The Cleanview Helix by Bissell is an upright style vacuum that features bag-less technology.

The Helix features some nice common sense characteristics including a power cord that is a decent length, it is 27 feet in length; and the vacuum weighs a reasonable weight.

Not so heavy that it is too cumbersome to get up or down stairs. It weighs approximately 15 pounds.

It also has a fairly wide cleaning path of 13.5 inches. The Helix comes with a headlight, so you can see the area you’re trying to vacuum.

The Cleanview Helix Deluxe is available on-line for about $75.00 and comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty.

Bissell Cleanview Deluxe Features:

  • Helix Dirt Separation Technology
  • Adjustable Height
  • Bagless
  • Accessories

Helix Dirt Separation Technology:

The Bissell Cleanview features a vacuum technology that uses a separation technique called the Helix system.

The dirt container is designed to force larger particles of debris to the bottom the tank. This helps the vacuum to be more effective.

The Cleanview Helix also has HEPA filtration and has 2 filters that can be removed and washed and reused.

Adjustable Height:

This vacuum has 5 height adjustments. The height of the brushroll can be adjusted by a dial knob on the front of the vacuum nozzle, to accommodate many different flooring types.

The vacuum is designed to work on carpet and hard flooring surfaces.

Bagless:

The Cleanview Helix uses bagless technology. This means no bags to throw away ever. The dirt container is easy to empty.

Accessories:

The Helix has a number of accessories that are stored on board.

This is a nice characteristic, since the accessory is readily available when you are ready to use them, and stores on the machine so they don’t get lost.

The accessories include the usual; crevice tool, dusting brush, and extension wand.

The vacuum also has a turbo brush, which is like a mini beater bar for easily vacuuming stairs or upholstery.

Bissell Cleanview Deluxe Recommendations:

Reviews were, for the most part, very positive on the Cleanview Helix. Users found this to be a vacuum that really picked up the dirt.

One user was so impressed he thought his light colored carpet actually got 2 shades lighter after using the Helix.

Pros:

It’s reasonably priced, and provides HEPA filtration which removes 99.9 percent of allergens including dust mites, ragweed, and pollens.

The Cleanview Helix Deluxe is bagless, saving the user money by not having to continually purchase vacuum bags.

Because of the clear design of the dirt container, you get to see what gets picked up when you vacuum every time you use it.

Cons:

The beater bar does not turn off. This means the vacuum is probably not safe on wood or other delicate flooring.

One user suggested making sure the beater bar was at the maximum height will vacuuming furniture or using any of the attachments.

This user experienced black marks being left on the floor by the still rotating beater bar.

The washable filters take a long time to air dry. So long in fact, that if you use your vacuum frequently, you might need to purchase separate filters so you don’t experience downtime.

Users also mentioned that it can be messy to empty the dirt containers.

It may be advantageous to take the vacuum/and or container outside to empty it so you don’t create a mess on freshly vacuumed surfaces or create a dust cloud.
