Dyson DC25 All Floors Vacuum Cleaner Review

Review of the Dyson DC25 All Floors Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson DC25 All Floors is an upright vacuum weighing 16.12 pounds. This model is specifically designed to vacuum all types of floor surfaces as the name implies. It has the famous Dyson patented cyclone technology that picks up even microscopic dust and the powerful suction also prevents clogging.

The All Floors model has a motorized brush bar that can be turned on and off with a touch of a button and is conveniently located right at your fingertips. This makes it quick and easy to transition when moving from multiple types of floor surfaces.

Dyson vacuums come standard with a 5 year parts and labor warranty for new vacuums. This is one of the best in the industry. Most other manufacturers offer a “limited” warranty and for far fewer years; even for the more expensive models.

Pricing for the Dyson DC25 All Floors is around $499.

Dyson DC25 Features:

  • Dyson Cyclone Technology with 220 Air Watts
  • Unique ball design
  • Lifetime HEPA Filter.
  • Telescoping wand with 16 foot reach
  • Hygienic easy empty bin
  • Cord length 24.6 feet

Maneuverability:

The unique design of Dyson upright vacuums includes a “ball” design. This allows it to maneuver more easily using just a slight turn of your wrist. This, along with the light weight (16.12 pounds), make it a helpful design for those with shoulder issues.

HEPA Filter:

Dyson offers the HEPA filtration system. This filter is not only washable but is a “lifetime filter” and should not need to be replaced for the life of the machine. The filtration system is very thorough and for this reason the DC25 All Floors is certified as ”Asthma and Allergy Friendly” by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Attachments:

Although the Dyson All Floors is designed for floors, it comes with attachments that will make other chores easier. One tool cleans up large debris then converts to a brush tool for dusting. There is also a stair tool and a telescoping wand. The wand allows you to remove dust, dirt and cobwebs up to 16 feet.

Dyson DC25 Recommendation:

Mrs. Clean recommends this model.

The DC25 All floors has more than enough power to suck up even pet hair and along with the tools included you can vacuum, remove dust and even get those nasty cobwebs on the ceiling. No more ladders!

The HEPA will actually make the exhaust cleaner than the air you would normally breathe so, if you are like me, no more sneezing when you vacuum.

The All Floors makes an easy job of going from one floor surface to another without the hassles of most machines so you get more done in less time. I like the design of putting the controls right at your fingertips, the maneuverability it the fact that it is light enough to carry up stairs.

Yes, Dyson’s are expensive but you are getting quality and one of the best warranties available.

PROS:

The DC25 All Floors has a HEPA filtration system that removes microscopic dust, pollen and mold so the air expelled from the Dyson actually has fewer bacteria than the air we normally breathe.

The HEPA filter is a washable lifetime filter. No more purchasing vacuum bags and having to run to the store.

No belts to replace as the Dyson All Floors uses gears, not belts.

Provides powerful suction of 220 air watts.

Easy to maneuver due to the “ball” design and a lower center of gravity.

One of the best warranties: 5 years parts and labor.

CONS:

One of the more expensive vacuums, priced at about $499.

Some owners found the wand hard to use and it took some getting used to. Along with this, the hose was stiffer than expected.

Dirt cup needs to be emptied frequently if you have a lot of pet hair or a lot of dirt in your carpets from high traffic areas.

Some people who were not satisfied with this model stated that it was a bit too noisy.

The cord is only 24.6 feet. This will mean more starting and stopping to find another outlet.
