Review of the Dyson DC25 Animal Vacuum Cleaner

The Dyson DC25 Animal model is an upright vacuum with the pet lover in mind.

The Animal uses Cyclone technology, which is patented by Dyson. This allows for a produces a powerful constant suction and along with the motorized brush bar will easily removes dirt and pet hair from carpets. You can also turn off the motorized brush bar when vacuuming hard floors or rugs.

The DC24 also features a washable lifetime HEPA filter that which actually cleans the air as you vacuum. The Dyson Animal is a bagless vacuum weighing approximately 16 pounds.

Pricing for the DC25 animal is around $450 from online retailers to $549 from the Dyson company. Dyson’s warranty covers 5 years both parts and labor.

Cyclone Technology:

The Cyclone Technology is what makes Dyson vacuums unique. It is patented and allows the air to spin inside the machine up to 100,000 times the force of gravity. What this means is that the centrifugal force it creates is powerful and this enables the machine to collect dust and dirt more efficiently. It will also help the vacuum not clog or lose suction, which is a common issue among some brands.

HEPA filter:

The lifetime, washable HEPA filter is designed to trap microscopic allergens including mold and pollen. It is documented that the exhaust is actually cleaner than air you normally breathe. This is according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and they have certified the Dyson HEPA filter “Asthma and allergy friendly”. This all means cleaner air for you and your family after vacuuming.

Mini Turbine Head:

The mini turbine head accessory is included when you purchase the DC25 Animal model. It is specifically designed for tight spaces and will easily clean upholstery, stairs and your vehicle or motor home. It conveniently attaches to the hose or cleaning wand to make it an even more versatile tool.

Dyson DC25 Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends the Dyson DC25. It’s pricey but it’s is worth the price especially for those with pets. The mini turbine head, combination accessory tool and stair tool make it easy to get the dust and dirt in hard to reach places where pet hair lurks. Dyson has a great HEPA filter so the air is cleaner and you don’t have dust everywhere after you vacuum; which cuts down on unnecessary additional dusting.

Pros:

The DC25 Animal is a powerful vacuum with 220 Air Watts. There is no loss of suction which will keep this vacuum from clogging. This, along with the HEPA filter, will clean the air as you go. Certified “Asthma and allergy friendly” for clean exhaust air.

The tools included are specifically designed for dealing with tough pet hair. The mini turbine head works on furniture and tight so that company won’t even know you have pets. With the telescoping wand you can vacuum stairs and do high reach cleaning easily; something that most vacuums don’t come standard with.

All of Dyson’s vacuums are bagless. This means you will not have to pay for expensive bag replacements and waste time running to the store. The HEPA filter is also washable and is a lifetime filter.

Cons:

This is a pricey vacuum comparatively and more of an investment.

The dirt cup only holds .31 gallons of debris. For heavy traffic areas and those with multiple pets you will need to empty the bin frequently. The instructions (both assembly and operating) are a bit confusing and contain no text, just pictures which are not real clear either.

Just a word of warning that the integrated handle and extension wand are cumbersome at first, and take a time or two to get used to. The hose is also stiffer than expected.
