Simplicity Vacuum Cleaner Review

Review of Simplicity Vacuum

Do you need a full size canister vacuum that includes such perks as HEPA filtration, Xenon headlamps, and a telescopic wand? If so, the Simplicity S36 or S38 may be for you.

Both models are backed by a 3 year comprehensive warranty, (parts and labor), and a 7 year warranty on the motor.

Simplicity Full Size Canister Vac Features:

Cord Length and other Details:

Simplicity’s S36 and S38 have a number of details built in that are well thought out. First, the cord length on these models is 28 feet. Cord length is a great way to make an operator happy. There is nothing worse than getting part way up a flight of stairs, and running out of enough cord to finish.

Another detail is the time saving auto cord rewind – press the button, and the cord disappears into the canister for storage.

The power nozzles on these vacuums have a Xenon headlamp which aids in putting light on the surface you are trying to vacuum. Both vacuums have a metal telescopic wand. This means the vacuum can be adjusted to any height, so any operator can be comfortable while vacuuming.

And one other great feature is the full bag indicator. I personally like this detail, no more opening up compartments to check to see if the bag needs to be changed, you just need to check the indicator.

Durability:

Simplicity is known for manufacturing a product that is meant to last, and the S36 and S38 are no exception to that.

Built with steel bottom plates, metal brushrolls, and belts that have lifetime warranties, the S36 and S38 should provide years of performance.

The S38 has a brush roll that is made out of extruded aluminum, and has 3 rows of replaceable brush strips.

The S36 has a steel brush roll and 2 rows of replaceable brushstrips.

Both models have belts that have lifetime warranty’s, the S38 has a vacuum belt that is manufactured out of Kevlar.

Filtration:

Both models have HEPA filtration, charcoal filters, S-Class HEPA filters, HEPA filter bags, and the system is 100 percent sealed.

If you have an allergy sufferer in your home, HEPA filtration will filter out dust and other allergens making the environment much healthier for the person.

The significance of S-Class HEPA certification means 99.97 percent of particles 0.3 microns or larger are removed. The system is 100 percent sealed, meaning once the particles are trapped, they won’t be released during the vacuuming process.

On Board tools and Accessories:

Living up to the Simplicity name, the full size canister vacuums don’t have a lot of unnecessary gadgets. Instead the manufacture has provided the tools that do the job.

There is a crevice tool for getting into tight spaces, the upholstery tool for furniture, and a dusting brush. These tools are conveniently stored on the vacuum, so there are ready when needed, and not misplaced somewhere.

There are two accessory brushes included; a 12 inch hardwood floor brush, and a hardwood/carpet brush.

Pros and Cons:

One of the main differences between the S36 and the S38 is the S38 is equipped with a dirt sensor. The sensor tells you where more vacuuming is needed. The S36 does not have this feature.

These vacuums are not cheap; in fact it is difficult to determine what the MSRP on these models is. A rough estimate appears to put them in the $1300-$1400 range.

Simplicity Full Size Canister Vac Recommendations:

Simplicity seems to have a loyal customer base, and the vacuums are well built out of metal components. (Metal lasts longer than plastic)

Simplicity vacuums are available only from authorized dealers, so a good way to check out these vacuums is to visit a dealer and actually try one out.
